Time for the poster to chime in.
Let me clarify my position on this seemingly hot topic.
First of all, I have not been following this thread. I
should have, I started it. I'm buried in work and the challenges of moving and living in an RV with almost 0 internet. Fantastic
Two things. I was looking for a vehicle to pursue
the return of my $3600 dollar investment in an amplifier that has no delivery
date in site after a year since payment was started. That being around $3500
sent to seller by December 3rd of 2017. Upgrades he offered were
added on as well as the optional 6 channel amp.
What seller was offering was a very IMO, technically and cosmetically
solid piece of gear. And in the case of the 2 channel amp which I had in my
system for a short time, fulfilled my expectations. It was not my amp and I
will not give out those details. I will say again, damn good amp in my system
and looked the part.
I’m a patient man. My
wife too. Our primary mode of entertainment is music. We are not TV people. My
8 year old probably knows more about audio than most of you posters. We have
been pretty involved in audio as a family for 15 years and for myself, 53
years. I have developed a solid core of audio friends in the SF Bay Area. I’ve
made some great purchases and have been burned a few times. Perhaps it comes
with the territory and occasionally doing business with smaller companies. But
I like supporting small companies who have a passion in audio. Call me foolish
if you will but I like the idea of spreading money this way. I love seeing small
business folks prosper. But NOT at the expense of what I’ve been presented. Sound
Decisions had graciously loaned us a Lindemann amplifier while our wait
continued. That was in the summer. The amp broke. Sorry Sound decisions. Those
guys are the best. They simply take care of business.
The business in question has a talented engineer that has
proven that he can produce a state of the art product. And he had delivered for
many. But NOT US. IMO he gets in the way of his own business. He consistently, defers,
redirects, simply doesn’t take ownership of his business. Perhaps my tentacles
run deep in the audiophile community even though I have not been posting
reviews and or been a part of the community at hand. Funny too as I had planned
an audio get-together at the home as we often do to give the 2 channel amp a
listen which could have really helped the business in question. But time wore
on and patience wore down.
I’m grateful for those who posted paths to help recover our
money. Thank you. For some who offered nothing than “buying from PS Audio” well,
I own PS Audio product and have bought in the past, PS Audio products. And that
didn’t often work out well too. Cutting edge audio has its pitfalls. For the
gentlemen who are enjoying their amps, good, you wouldn’t be if you never received
one.
Mike, just do the right thing. Your business could do very
well if you just treat customers as customers who give you their hard-earned money
and get a product in a reasonable amount of time. We had sent you money because
a few of us, that were a part of this transaction, recognized that you
understood the fundamentals of producing an audio signal that might delight.
Oh and Mike, if you’re reading this and somehow you decide
that returning our money is the correct action, then wait till after the year,
when Xmas has past. We hope that your family will have a proper Christmas.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
