I thought steel is now considered bad for sound, and wasn't used anymore in perfectionist gear? I use stainless steel when I replace old turntable parts. I took a magnet to my pair of Magneplanar Tympani-IVa, and found ferrous parts in the fuse block and speaker terminals, so I bypassed the fuses and replaced the stock terminals with Cardas binding posts.
