Preamp/Tuner to be used as a tuner only?

This question may be better suited to another (newbie) forum, but A'gon is the only forum that I frequent.

My question is, will I be able to use my preamp/tuner (an Adcom GTP 450) as a tuner, after I upgrade to an Audio Research LS preamp?

Thanks!

"Similar to what has been said, run from the Tape Out. Normally this should send the full signal to the new pre-amplifier and bypass the GTP 450's volume control."

This is exactly how I hooked my NAD 1600 to my Sonic Frontiers SFL-2. The volume knob on the NAD is bypassed.

i believe you can run ic from your output on the Adcom to an input on your AR pre, just make sure you start with the volume way down on your Adcom and turn it up as needed for gain,,i did the same thing with a tube preamp and Harman Cardan reciever with pretty good results before i bought my poweramp,,just be carefull with the volume on the Adcom,,
Sure; Y-knot? Just run a pair of ics say, from the 'record-out' (red/white) to an input on your preamp.
Hi, YES, I did the same thing with my
Adcom GTP-600. The only problem is that my Adcom
did NOT sound like a GOOD tuner, it sound very bad
on most stations with alot of hiss, even with the
HI-Blend ON. You might be better off
Selling the Adcom for a seperate tuner.
