Preamp comparison- need help

Current system:
Audio Aero Prima cd player
Rega 5 turntable/ Benz Micro Glider cartridge
Dynaudio Contour 1.4 speakers
REL Strata III sub
Plinius P8 power amp

Using preout from SS integrated for now

I am looking at an Audio Research LS-12 or Cary SLP-03.
Any thoughts will be appreciated.

I have a Cary SLP98P and I'm getting all new Ruby EL 34 tubes 2 EL84's and 2 12ax7 input tubes for my Cary V12R amp in a couple of days. I tested the amp tubes and deceided to just get a new set. The SLP98P ran very good when I still had my McIntosh 7270 amp. Still having both a tube amp and preamp is even better. I love both units and have not rolled any tubes yet. I used to do it the hard way and roll speakers. I've been single for some time now.
It's not exactly the same but I have a Cary SLP-98p and I love it. I have had several Audio Research preamp, none of the newer models, and liked them, very, very much. Extremely smoooooooooth, great build quality. I think the Cary is comparable, but smoother. I have Maggies and it seems to mellow them out more, which is what I was looking for. You may not need/want that with your Dynaudio's, but I have become a huge Cary fan in the last 6 months. Good luck, both great choices.
Consider some of the other AR's with tube phono stages, 6C, 2B and so on...you won't believe the quality of the phono stages.
