PRE/PRO 2 channel analog bypass and SUB

Do Pre/Pros normally still send bass signal to SUB when you do anlog bypass 2 channel? is there such thing as analog bass management? like crossing over bass management in digital realm

I believe that some of the current EAD stuff incorporates bass management for analog use. Not sure if it includes their pre/pro's or just the players themselves.

The players also have a very nice analog volume control for direct connection to an amp if that interests you. It controls up to all 8 balanced outputs simultaneously for multi-channel use without a particular need for a pre/pro (unless you need more inputs/video switching/other features).

Alternatively, you could simply use a sub like a REL that connects to the L/R speaker outputs of your mains amp as its input. This is the most practical and harmonious way to integrate a sub into a 2-channel system without involving BM or any D-to-A or A-to-D conversion, which always degrades SQ.

Most REL's also have a separate, low-level LFE input to connect to your pre/pro at the same time, and the volume control and crossover settings are adjusted separately from the hi-level input. An internal circuit determines the appropriate input set to use depending on what the signal characteristics are, so you don't have to futz with it. This would give you the best of both 2-chnl and HT worlds, and has proven to be a synergistic solution with MANY types of speakers - even the difficult-to-match designs.

...worth consideration, at least...
