Pra-1000 with dp-2000 w/ dl-305 mc cartridge issue

I have these three items paired. I specifically bought the pra-1000 to use the mc input. When connected it does not sound full at all. No bass, all very high treble. Anything I'm missing? All of this is rather new to me so any advice is greatly appreciated!
