Power cord effect on turntables

Try some upgrade power cords and let us know if there is an improvement. You never know for sure unless you try.

I have a VPI Scout with the option of using either the 300RPM or 600RPM motor and I also use a Walker Audio motor controller and can say most confidently that upgrading the power cord from the wall to the Walker had a very positive effect to the bass solidity/agility and soundstage solidity as well. I also upgraded the male AC connector on the power cord that connects the Scout motor to the Walker with an Oyaide P-079 AC male connector and this added further refinement such as sweeter highs and more fully fleshed out harmonics.

Is it worth the added expense for these upgrades? Only if you want to extract the maximum resolution from your rig/records and from the Scout Master that is quite a big chunk! May I suggest that you contact The Cable Co. and utilize their Cable Library where you can try out power cords/cables in your own home for a week and that gives one the opportunity to make an informed decision using their own system and their own ears as the arbiter.

It is not sensitive to Power Cords, but you can try a Oyaide Plug for better
connection...

Best Upgrade is a better Turntable

Ask yourself: Do I listen to the motor? No, you don't. You have a speed controller feeding stable and proper voltage to your motor. Spend the money somewhere else that matters. Or save it.

the magnitude of changes should probably be neglectable especially vs. the investment. if there's better power supply for the motor for example, the magnitude will be much greater. with stock pc you can 'juggle' between outlet and conditioner or even connect it together with any transformer next to each other, connect it to varactor with decreased or increased voltage by 10% and see the effect. if the effect is minimal or barely audible, than you can figure out if it's realy worth to spend $$$ for aftermarket cord.
