Portland (Oregon) Audio Club

The PAC meets every month in Portland, with arrangements made through Meetup. (Meetup is the social network that charges organizers, instead of selling your personal information.) Membership dues are $12/year, but you get two free months to decide, before you spend the big bucks.

We have a varied membership, with ages from 20s to 80s and systems from very cheap to really expensive. Members include headphone lovers, vintage audio lovers, tube and solid-state fans, some DIYers, a composer, a mastering engineer, and many more. It’s a friendly group: we go out of our way to welcome newcomers; and it’s a great way to meet other audiophiles in the area.

Regardless of who you are, if you’re interested in audio and music, we hope you’ll join us! Our holiday social is on Sunday, December 15th. Visit the link above for more details.

Hi, Zufan,

We (the PAC) have been meeting on Zoom for about 18 months now. There was a brief period when we started having in-person events again, then Delta covid started raging and put an end to those. It was a pity, because we had planned the entire 2020 schedule, and it went into the wastebasket.

You are more than welcome to check out our Meetup page (link in first post) and attend the Zoom meetings. They are not quite as much fun as meeting in the back room of a pub, with a stereo system set up, but they are fun nonetheless.

Another benefit of joining the club is that you’ll be aware when we start meeting in person again.

Happy listening!
Mike

P.S. We had a good run, 3 years or so of regular monthly meetings. I think my favorite was when a young cellist came to play for and talk to us. When he explained the sonic effects of the metal chosen for some parts of his bow, he sounded just like an audiophile!

I'm in Redmond, OR and would be up for trekking to Ptl for an event, possibly. Not too far. Any other central OR ppl here?
