piano works (concerto/jazz) speakers ATC/Proac/JMR/Vienna Acoustic/B&W

Sorry the post was previously accidentally sent without content, I can’t find how to delete it or edit the title.

I’m trying to look for my first hi-fi system, It seems the previous posts were either very old or the price range is way above my budget, I look forward to some input about the topic.

Trying to look for bookshelf speaker that’s good for piano concerto/jazz works at quieter volume for a small room. 10x11, my budget for the speaker is about 2K (new or used) , prefer clarity/speed over bass.

I like Harbeth P3ESR and Magnepan LRS but P3ESR is out of my budget and not enough space for latter unfortunately.

Not very impressed:
The piano sound on KEF LS50,
Dali (vocal is good but it’s overwhelming to me)
Focal (bass is a little too strong for my preference)
Dynaudio

What I’m considered:
ATC CSM 11
ProAc Tab 10
B&W 707 S2
JMR, someone recommended this brand to me for classical music, but it seems to be not to many discussion about them in English.

I’m concerned about which ones are better (or can be eliminated) for playing on lower volume, and what are the character differences between these if anyone had some experiences with them.
or any other points that I should take into consideration as a newbie.

Much appreciate the help.

The Vandersteen VLR is a real sleeper.
If your budget allows, get the CT version.

I have the non-CT version for my office. If you can place them near the corners of the room, you'll have plenty of bass. I have mine with a pair of HSU subs. To be honest, the subs are probably overkill.
I haven't listened to the speakers you have listed, so I can't comment on them, but I will tell you the Vandy's sound good loud or soft on a wide variety of music.
Are you near any dealers to audition?
Bob
ATC won’t be great at low volumes IME.  ProAc would be good, or even the new LSA-10s would be great and you can try them at home.  Best of luck.
@soix Thanks for the input about ATC not good for low volumes,  really helps! will check LSA-10s also.

@gdnrbob I’ll check Vandersteen for sure! thank you.
I owned proac D25s years ago and thought they had the best piano reproduction I’d heard from anything else I’d had up to that point.  At this price you may also want to check out the Quad  Z1.
@jimmy2615 thank you for the info and recommendation. I’ll add Quad Z1 to the auditing list.
The JMR Bliss Jubilee fits the bill though they are a bit over your $2k budget unless you find them used. Call Bob Neill at Amherst Audio and talk to him about Reynaud.
