phono Symphonic Line integrated amp

Hello all,

I own a VPI Scout with a Lyra Dorian cart. This goes directly into my integrated Symphonic Line La Musica amp. This amp has a inbuild MC only phono stage. However does anyone know how good this stage is. To me this combo sounds good enough for now. But I was wondering how much I would need to invest to get a better sound of my turntable. The only thing I know is the phono stage is better the the Clearaudio Basic that I used to have. But if I were to upgrade at what level would I need to look. Any here have experience with Symphonic Line amps and the inbuild phono stage?

Mordante,
I know it's been ten years since your initial post and that you probably don't own the La Musica integrated anymore but I thought it wouldn't hurt responding. I bought a La Musica integrated a little over a mth ago here in Orlando. The integrated was a two yr old model specially ordered to compete with the Kraftwerks which the owner also had but was looking for a simpler solution. The Kraftwerks has two power supplies. Anyways, the upgrades were SL modules and special capacitors I can't remember the names off the top of my head plus extra power supply capacitance. With that said, I think the phono section on my La Musica is pristine. I can only describe it as world class and I had several preamps and separate phono amps in the past but this one is the best so far. Again, it's been ten years and mine is modded to the gills by Ralf Gemein himself so take it with a grain of salt if you will.
