Phono stage amp

Asking for opinions for a phono stage to pair up with an AR Ref1 peramp.

The cartridge/cable/phono stage interactions will effect your overall system sound more than any preamp/phone stage combination. 'Nuff preaching. An offbeat suggestion is the E.A.R.834P. Tremendous value. It sounds very analog, if that's what you're looking for. Not the ultimate in hi-fi, but emotionally very satisfying.
