Phono Stage

What are the benefits of buying an integrated amp and a phono pre VS the benefits of buying a power amp and a pre with both phono and linear?

Do not know what your range is ,but I go for biggest bang for the buck! ARC,Thor and Herron make good ones from the reviews I have read,but MS has some great dexterity! Happy hunting!

(they stink) Making a good preamp is an art, and there are fewer people out there who really know what they are doing. So, you should seek out the companies that know what they are doing, that have a good reputation for making phono stages. You might be better-off posting your request in the "Analog" discussion group. You may want to add how much money you think you want to spend on a phono stage or phono preamp, and what kind of cartridge/money you have in mind. (Moving coil, moving magnet, etc.) That will help people guide you to a good product.
