Phono preamp advice

The opposite of laid back..

Either way Parks Puffin. Infinetly adjustable.

Used musical surroundings nova phonomena.  The original version is what I have, and percussive stuff like Talking Heads, War, Peter Gabriel, etc., jump.  It is also very adjustable, though I’m pretty basic with a Soundsmith SMMC1.

I haven’t compared, but I don’t have the desire to do.  Gillian Welch’s The Harrow and the Harvest sounds just as good.

Took a look at the Puffin had never heard of it before decided to take a shot with it thank you appreciate your feedback I guess if I don't like it I'll just return it but doesn't look likely

Sutherland KC Vibe MkII. It fits your criteria.
Parks Puffin is DSP. If you can return it, worth trying out.
