permalin platters

Does anyone know what kind of matterial is Permalin? It is used by Da Vinci Audio for the Unicum (ex AAS Gabriel) TT. As far as I know nobody else uses this kind of matterial. By the way, which is the best (most acousticaly dead) for you?
