Jan Daley has recently released some of the most noteworthy jazz of the past decade. Her new album When Sunny Gets Blue is a phenomenal set of Great American Songbook smooth jazz tunes that Daley clearly has an emotional and personal connection with.
After working closely with the late Jack Segal, the original writer and producer of the album's title track, Daley inevitably holds a connection with the music that transcends the average album and this is clear throughout the work. Her smooth jazz vocals are impressive and float atop the lush arrangements.
