I've used both and it's a nice upgrade from untreated cds'. I've moved on to Vivid by walker audio and Herbie's grungebuster mat. I would recommend both without reservation. Check the reviews at Audioasylum.com
I've never tried optrix in particular, but I HAVE tried auric illuminator, and I know it provides a nice upgrade in sound (smoother highs, deeper bass, richer sound overall). I imagine optrix would but a similar upgrade.
