OCM/Belles 55 two different versions?

I just recieved a soloist 55 preamp and while doing a little research saw another that has a seperate pwr supply. The pics of the inside differ from mine as well. Perhaps a soloist with a phono stage had the seperate pwr supply. Any info from previous or current owners would clear the air. Thank you in advance.
