NYC Repair of Revox B795 direct drive turntable

A non-technical friend in Manhattan, NY asked where to take a Revox B795 direct drive turntable for repair by an experienced tech person. I only know it has stopped working, but no details, except it has worked correctly for decades, until just recently.

Also, if you can suggest a replacement turntable with equivalent automatic operation, in case repair is not practical.

As a last idea, whether anyone in the NYC area has an operating Revox turntable they are willing to sell locally.

Stereo Exchange has a very good service department. They should have no problem fixing it.
$arm.leg for Stereo Exchange repair?
They send components to repair to http://www.highendaudiorepair.com/
Why not stepping directly there and save at least 40% of SE markup?
Hi Listener57

Can you get out to Douglaston Queens? Scott Gramlich of SG Custom Sound has fixed many things for me including turntables.

SG Custom Sound

Address: 40-33 235th St, Douglaston, NY 11363
Phone:(718) 224-5083

If that doesn't work give a call to Rock N Soul Records they are near Penn Station. They mostly cater to DJs and pro audio but they have done lots of Technics 1200 repairs. They may be able to help with the Revox.

Thanks and best of luck.
To Zd542, Czarivey, and Jedinite24 --
Thanks so much for your help.
If there are any ideas from additional Audiogon members, more help will be appreciated, too.
If you end up looking for a replacement, keep your eyes out for one of the Denons from the early 80s - DP-57/60/62/70/80. These were *magnificent* DD turntables and were very well built. And they were damn good looking, too!!

Are you sure about that? Unless they changed something, SE's service department is down stairs. You won't see it if you go into the store. Someone has to take you to it. I've been down there several times.
