Northern California

We have a small audiophile club going for dipole users in the Sacramento area. We meet whenever someone has something they want to share. There are only four of us so far, three Apogees, and a Magnepan. It's always a fun party. If you are in the area, and would like to join us, send me an email. If there is another established group in the area, let me know.

Muralman,

I am a little ways south of you, in Fresno, but I run Infinity IRS V and wouldn't mind knowing about future get togethers. I have open house parties for home theater every 3-4 months down here.
Hi Mrpoindexter, too cool. The IRS V is a classic killer Infinity. You must have a very large room. I have never heard one, but I read a great review printed in Audio, I think in '92. The review was written by Anthony Cordesman titled, "A search for the ultimate speaker. Hate to toot my own horn, heh heh, but Cordesman gave the nod to the Apogee Diva.

I am selling my last speakers, the Apogee Duetta Signature. A possible buyer happens to have a sister in Fresno where I might be dropping off the speakers. I'd like to look you up if it all happens.

Drop me some mail
Hey, you can email me at [email protected] and let me know when you are coming down. I have a fairly decent set-up with the IRS V as the mains in my home theater, IRS Betas as rears and IRS Gamma for center. If that isn't enough bass for T-Rex, I have an Odyssee motion simulator that can hit with 2G's of force.
Woo hoooo! Awesome, Mike! We don't have anything like that up here in Sacramento that I know of...Yet. We have Triangles, Green Mountain, Martin Logan, and more Apogees. I live in the midst of some mighty big houses. Ever think of relocating?
Sorry, but I am stuck where I am. As it stands, I have no neighbors. I think I could crank it to 120db outside my house and not get any complaints from neighbors...
I was bit by the Bug at Deetes Sound Room in Carmichael. Would recomend him to anyone in the Sacramento area. Any other shops in the area?
Sacramento used to have more "Hi-Fi" shops but is down to Deets and Audio Gallery which is by appointment but worth a listen. I would be interested in "club events",checking out what other files have and share some info........ideas on getting it together??
Hello Panalolog and Flikkit. We have an informal group whose members are all both eager to share and gain knowledge. There is a wide selection of components, and music tastes in Sacramento. Write to me.
Have a modest 2 channel rig(no dipoles)but live in Marysville just up the road a peice.Just giving a shout out to all. Will save this to favorites and check in T2T.
I have magnepans 2.7 front, magnepan center and rears, I live in Pioneer California about 60 miles from Sacramento. I use B&K amps and have the maggies in a home theater set up
Russ
Hi Russ, Pioneer has got to be more than 60 miles. I can't say I can make it up there. More the pity, because I never have heard Magnepans.
It's 57 miles from my house to the costco in rancho Cordova. I am really enjoying some of the blu Ray concerts onthe maggies
Russ
You fly. If I ever come up that way for anything, I will give you a ring before I embark. If you come down this way to catch a bit of smog, give me a shout. I have Apogee Scintillas flanking a collapsable screen. My amps are class D H2O monos. I made my own SCs.
In the Elk Grove area just a little south of Sacramento with simple system looking to meet with others
