I used a Conrad-Johnson MV52 with some B&W 804 matrix and at 45 watts per it did well but not nearly as well as when I upgraded to their Premier 11a at 70 watts per. If you can, bring your amp to where the speakers are and hear for yourself. At 50 watts per it should do well, depending on how loud you listen. The more power the more they sing.
New to this. A question about B&W 804
I am new to the hi-fi scene. I have a Jolida 302 and wondering if I have enough power to run a set of 804 B&W's.I have been listening to a lot of different speakers and these sounded to be one at the top of my list. I really wanted to go with bookshelf's but I have run across these 804's new in the box for a great deal.
