New Tekton Pendragons On The Way

I am quite thrilled and also quite nervous in having ordered a pair of the Pendragon speakers this afternoon. I am doing this mostly on the reviews and also after receiving communication from Eric Alexander, owner of Tekton Designs.

Let me go back a little. I recently changed the tubes in my Rogue Cronus Magnum integrated from the KT120 to EL34 tubes. I have fallen in love with the EL34 sound and now my present speakers sound thin unless really cranked. I attribute that to it's 89db sensitivity whereas the Pendragons have a 95 db sensitivity. This should give me a much fuller sound at lower volume levels.

This is my secondary system in my home office and I play it 8 hours a day so it gets much more use than my reference system downstairs in our living room. Many of the reviews both pro and consumer say it's the speaker for someone who loves music. So now the wait begins to receive them. Supposedly they keep this in stock now in the basic black finish which is what I got. I would be thrilled if I got them by the end of this week but that is pretty unrealistic I guess.

If anyone has experience with these speakers, I would especially like to hear. If anyone reading this has any thoughts, kindly post them.

Not possible. The speakers are already boxed and are going out via FedEx this afternoon. I only hope the boxes survive the trip back to the factory as they were pretty beat up by FedEx when they first arrived.
Roxy,

Why does your system link go to a 2012 thread about Tvad? Can't Agon fix that?

I learned a valuable lesson. Free trial is nice but you have to consider the possibility of sending the item back and the costs involved. It cost me 295.00 to send the speakers back via FedEx with insurance. Never again.
Shakey,
Good question. I didn't even realize that it had happened until another member made me aware of it. I have no idea of how it happened at all. As far as I knew at the time, I was simply posting a general thread asking where Tvad was, since he hadn't posted lately.
On the other hand, I haven't asked Audiogon to fix it either, which I will do. Most of my occasional communications with them are back and forth tiffs about comments I make that they won't post.

Sorry to hear of your delivery experience with FedEx, Stereo5 - and that it didn't pan out with the Pendragon's. I have speakers being built to in Brighton, England, and though I live in Denmark I'll gladly go on a roughly 1600 mile driving trip (total distance over and back, with a co-driver) to collect them in due time. The thought of hand-made, furniture grade speakers being possibly (or very likely) mis-treated by courier service is simply nerve wrecking.

I agree with you completely. I once drove to Annapolis, Maryland and back home in 1 day. It was a 925 mile trip for a pair of DeVore speakers. I didn't like them and sold them 3 months later.
