New Santana Album "Africa Speaks"

Santana has a new album out; since it's not quite jazz, and I'm not sure if it's Rock, I'll just throw it up for grabs and see who likes it.

Africa Speaks is inspired by music from the continent of Africa, and has been called a "unique fusion of rock, Latin and jazz". Many of the album's tracks were recorded in one take. The album features vocals from Spanish singer Buika.

Africa Speaks was released on June 7, 2019 by Concord Records and Suretone Records, but this is the first time I've seen it on "you-tube"

Since it has been hard for me to find anything by Santana that I didn't like, I'll refrain from expressing my biased opinion.

What do you think?

Hey I totally get where you are coming from, many of the responses left me cold as well. I agree with you 100% about Abraxas - one of the all time greatest rock albums.

I also agree with you about Africa Speaks - sounds good to me,  Carlos has the fire back on that one. It’s quite the achievement and testimony to Mr. Carlos Santana to be making music all these years.
Enjoy the music ! Take care of yourself.
Pretty powerful music. Not the pop sounding stuff that put him
in the public eye a few years ago. I went to the gym a month ago with this playing on my headphones, let’s just say I got a great workout. I thought to myself wow Carlos is back!

With all due respect, I must say you may be overthinking this one. Abraxas is one of the all time greats, I agree, The new one is worth a listen at the very least.
It surprises me (maybe it shouldn’t) when a simple post about something someone likes seems to bring out the “Get off my Lawn”
type of responses.
Wow -
“circling the drain” for sure
More like down the drain.
It’s quite astonishing how enlightened some folks are.
So this really isn’t just about music or sound compression at all is it?
It may have started out that way by the the OP. Not a friendly forum however, I guess that is just the nature of the beast.
