Nice,uber! I placed one on the breaker box and one under my Odyssey Candela pre. Have a card across the speaker cables right at the amp. Will let them settle in a bit and have a listening session later.

Colored? Clarity is the word. PPT tweaks have allowed me to hear details in songs that were previously masked. An extended note, the tinkling of a background chime, whispers in a live recording....
Colored? Yes, the color black. As in a blacker background that clears away whatever haze my system has. Also jay, not nice to make malicious, unsubstantiated statements now is it.

I have a nice 65" Sony tv (not oled) that has a very nice picture. Since I placed a mat on the panel door about a week ago, I noticed an enhancement in picture quality, specifically football games (American football, uber!) Wasn't even thinking about it when I noticed a finer detail of the grass. Then the dimensionality of uniform numbers, facial complexions etc... It's like the mat cleaned up the signal "fuzz". Was watching my favorite show "How It's Made" earlier, and it looked practically 3 dimensional. Well done Tim and Krissy, well done! On real footy, Go Man United!! |
I have as a 'chores' vehicle a 2000 Tundra in pristine condition (southern truck, never seen salted roads). Stereo, not so pristine. Replaced the stereo with nothing high end, a Sony double din with a built in 45 watt amp, driving Morel component speakers in front and Morel coax in back. Sounded pretty darn good for around $500 total. Well, I placed a couple e-cards in the cup holder below the head unit. Took a couple of days, but the music is now cleaner, with more detail coming through, and- for lack of a better phrase- it hangs in the air better. It's more immersive...
If you haven't tried them in your vehicle, give it a go. If you don't have any yet, order a couple. These little guys really deliver! |

Alright. Doing a little test. Took the Omega E+ mats out and away from the system night before last. Giving it until tomorrow night to lose any residual effects from them, then will have a listening session to see if I can hear a difference. Will report back with results. Should be interesting...

Actually, my stereo sounded quite good, now it sounds better, no joking. And I was the biggest naysayer of them all if you go way back to the TC thread. And I don’t mean skeptical, I mean I was a jerk about it, speaking from a position of ignorance since I never tried any product. If you put the mats on your breaker box, it somehow ’cleans’ up the power, like a whole house conditioner. I’m not touting earth shattering for me personally, but a definite and undeniably positive effect, on my tv picture also. I definitively understand the skepticism, but the PPT products really do work, and they come with a 90 day return policy. |
Hi, bdp24. The price of the new +mat is the same as the price of the original mat when it first came out. They halved the price of the original mat upon the debut of the +mat.

@atdavid, I doubt there is a person posting on here that doesn’t know about rfi/emi shielding and absorption products and how they work. Once again the Audio Savior arrives to enlighten the ignorant masses! What pompous, presumptuous nerve. I have personally purchased and used rfi/emi shielding sheets, covering the spectrum of frequencies and placed them both inside and outside my gear. I heard zero appreciable difference. The Omega Mats and now Omega + Mats are in an entirely different league. They do indeed work as stated. But of course, you wouldn’t know that would you? You have neither heard nor tried them, yet you’re spending your time doing your best to disparage a product with which you have zero experience. Can’t wait for you to start telling everyone we’re all fooling ourselves about what we hear. That is next, isn’t it??

Actually geoff the Star Trek deflector shields work by creating an active shield of magneto-plasma. It’s an electromagnetic shield that forms a plasma shell that when hit by a photonic weapon, curves the particles away either up or down, depending on the charge. If you recall the TC thread in the early stages, I was a nay saying jerk. I too found that impossible to believe, as well as electric bill reduction, better tv picture, etc. I demanded scientific explanation, lab work data, proof! Because, by God without it, there was no way it worked as claimed.
Until I actually tried it and found that it does indeed work. Refrigerator not withstanding as I did not experience this. But better sound from my system-check. Decreased electric bill-check. Not earth shattering, but I’ll take any savings. Better tv picture-check. Better sound from my truck stereo from the Alpha cards-check. Going to TC my battery connections next. Can’t hurt! |

Days ago, I removed the Omega + mats from my breaker box and Alpha cards from my speaker cables. I waited two days and had a listening session. I listened to Joan Jett and then Spyro Gyra on CD. Sounded just fine. Clear, detailed, quite enjoyable. Joan was rockin' at her 80's best, and Spyro Gyra was smooth as a gravy sandwich. I must say my system is treated with TC which helped enhance that enjoyment (obviously did not remove that). I placed the Omega + mats back on the breaker box and Alpha cards back on the amp side speaker cables and waited two days. Just played the same cds. Ahhh! There was that 'more' of everything. More detail, more clarity, more 'smooth'. Joan Jett's voice can sound quite melodic when she slows things down. Anyway, just wanted to verify to myself that the + mats were indeed working to improve my listening experience. And for me personally, they do...

Oh, geez geoff. Let me consult all my notes that I didn’t take-
Took the mats out around 5pm on the 20th. Put them in their wrapping and put them in the attic. System is in the basement. Proceeded to have a nice piece of salmon and sauteed Brussels sprouts for supper. Glass of white from local vineyard. Weather was dark as this is New England in November.
At approximately 6:12 and 23 seconds on November 22, I sat down in a tastefully plaid Lazy Boy recliner for a listen. I declined to recline. Stomach contents were steamed shrimp from Super Stop & Shop, glass of white from same bottle as I am a very light and occasional drinker. Session sounded as previously reported. Weather was a bit darker as it was a bit later. Around 10 pm I did a push up, took my Milk of Magnesia and cried myself to sleep.
Morning of the 23rd I replaced mats. Weather had brightened considerably as it was daytime.
3pm on the 25th, Sat down in same tastefully plaid Lazy Boy for listening session. Session sounded as previously described. Stomach contents were a Rollo and a Tootsie Roll midgie as I didn’t want to spoil my supper. Weather was light with scattered dark appearing. All room contents remained as they were.

Already told you went that route and the mats aren't that. And if you want to cover a lot of frequencies, it's a heck of a lot more expensive than $100.
The emi/rfi absorbing sheets did nothing for my system. The Omega + mats have a profound and positive effect. |

I, on the other hand, speak from a position of experience. I have tried BOTH emi absorbing sheets and the Omega+ mats. I have first hand knowledge of what both do. Tell us, do you? Oh, that’s right. You have no clue. You are speaking from a position of complete ignorance when it comes to experience with this product. Yet, you somehow feel you know more than I do about it. What a joke. So yeah, I don’t have to know what the mat is to draw my accurate conclusion. I just have to know what it isn’t.

Thank you for pointing out my error and strengthening my position of experience as opposed to your complete and total inexperience with the Omega+ mat. See how easy it is to admit you’re wrong?? That is my mistake. I used the wrong word. If you insist on not believing me, I cannot help that. I reiterate, I have experience with 3M emi absorbing sheets both inside and outside my gear, as well as the Omega + mat. The emi absorbing sheets made no appreciable difference. The Omega + mat certainly did. Personal experience. Fact. Not conjecture. Debating you is like riding a train with square wheels. You have never seen an Omega + mat. You have never used one. You have never heard what one can do. You have never experienced it's effects. Yet you continue to disparage. You continue to play the expert. Coming from a position of complete and utter ignorance of the product you continue on. Those little alpha cards (mini Omega's) are really doing their thing in my truck. Put in a Narada Smooth Jazz double CD ( one at a time, of course) various artists, and the clarity and separation of instruments is something I didn’t think these Morel’s could accomplish. Pretty cool.... |
