New Omega E Mat from Perfect Path Technologies

Many of you own or have read of the highly-regarded PPT Omega E Mat, one of Tim Mrock’s revolutionary signal-enhancing accessories. Just prior to his untimely passing, Tim had finished developing a new generation of his Omega mat, soon to be available. Krissy Mrock has asked a few of us to introduce this new mat, here given the working title of The Double Omega.

In distinguishing the Double Omega, we know the original Omega, herein called the single, as a 7.5” by 10”, rather heavy and somewhat pliable mat, a bit more than 1/8” thick and with a vinyl-like feel. One face is glossy white, displaying the PPT logo and Omega name, while the other is black, smooth and magnetized. Sandwiched between these faces is the active material that causes components to reject the EMI that saturates everything in our surroundings. The Double Omega is much the same, with one important difference: the magnetized face has the finely-textured feel of around, say, 220-grit sandpaper. This texture, it is presumed, comprises yet a second active layer of EMI rejection. Presumed—because working details of the Double Omega are not well understood—better yet to know how to apply it.

With the understanding that the single Omega E mats generate field effects from both faces, mats have typically been placed under and over components and vertically over circuit breakers. How you apply the Double Omega will depend on best use and experimentation. In my case, I have removed two single mats, lying side-by-side, from the top of my large Wadia CDP and have replaced those with two Double Omegas. The Wadia is a one-box player that contains a pre-amp, so I wanted that second, strong field effect exerting downward as well as upward. I also have several singles placed underneath, just as before. Going straight to amps, this player is my only source, so I want it fully protected from EMI. Your priorities will differ.

As of this writing, I am only thirty-hours in on placing these Double Omegas, and I can already tell you they are powerful in their prevention of EMI within my digital source. Yet another veil has been lifted—all instruments and voices are even more sorted out in the aural space with new information heard within that space. There is much more decay heard against a new silence behind and between the musicians. I am already so pleased and excited about what the Double Omega E mats are doing. As Krissy told me, Tim was really stoked to have these new mats available. Rather than wait for the the fourteen-day window of improvement, I want to get this intro out so others can relay their experiences sooner.

I'm very interested in a Double Omega.
The Gate is out of my league (not only the cost, but also the import duties it would attract). Would love one, but not really an option.

Have Akiko Triple AC Power Enhancer, iFi AC iPurifier, Signal Ground Solutions SGS-1 Grounding Box, Akiko Fuse Box Tuning Chip, 3 x Bybee iQSE, 1 x High Fidelity Cables MC-0.5, iFi USB Silencer, among other things.
Just got 3 x SR Orange fuses for my amp and Dac.
A Double Omega I'm thinking for my fuse box?

The main reason I don't spend much time here is the negativity on posts. Guys who haven't tried products, stating as fact that it couldn't/shouldn't/won't make a blind bit of difference.

Enough. I want to know from experience what people think on a range of products.
From experience.
From similar models/additions/tweaks, both positive and negative.
From what they have heard others mention.

I won't comment on tube gear, because I've never owned any. However, I don't like them because they won't fit where my system is. Do any of you care? I hope not. So why the heck would I then criticise any of you (who share the same passion as I) or your gear? Ridiculous.

The fuse debate goes round in circles. I'm sold, and have bought and enriched my listening experience a few times now.

It gets personal. There is too much that is not right in this world, and I don't want to add these discussions as proof on the human condition.
I'm not a 'glass half full' guy. The glass is brimming, imho.

Note: I'm relatively new here, and have only been an audio enthusiast for 40 years.

I'm getting an Emat+ to try.

Already have:
3 x Bybee iQSE - one on power board, one in amp, one in Dac.
1 x High Fidelity Cables MC-0.5
Akiko Triple AC Power Enhancer, Tuning Caps on amp outputs, Fuse Box Tuning Chip, Universal Tuning Sticks on speaker cables.

Where do you suggest I put the EMat+?

"I really do not care how this mat works, and if it works at all."

So why do you continue to post?

jerrybj,
"So why do you continue to post?"

Glupson
"Long story, I tried explaining multiple times in this thread. I would not recommend you waste time and re-read the thread to figure it out. It is not worth it."

It’s rudimentary. You state your point of view (multiple times), which very few want to hear. And from a position of arrogance (I know better than you, and your observations are wrong).
I suggest you have your say (maybe twice if absolutely necessary) and then leave it alone.
Your position is tedious at best, and detracts from the real purpose of these forums. It turns people away. And without trying any of the products, you have no right to put a negative slant on a product that may have a (dramatic) effect on music reproduction.
Glupson
From the other side of the screen, it seems that you get overly emotional and agitated in this thread. May I recommend that you stop reading it? It may be detrimental to your health.
If you can't say anything positive, leave.
Glupson
I have no interest in anything you say. My money has gone on items a range of audio enthusiasts have recommended, from all around the world. For some, the scientific explanation is sketchy.
I can't put what I really think of what you really think is clever and objective. You need to get off your virtual soapbox. Few are listening. Narcissism defined...

It wouldn't bother me one iota if a person tried a product (any product) and they said it didn't work for them, or it didn't sound good, or whatever.

I have added substantial tweaks in the last 18 months, as well as changing my system. Speakers, ICs, DAC are the big additions.
Many smaller. Some are an instant improvement. Some I'm not sure.
With the Shumann Resonators, I have not noticed any difference. Have two of the more expensive ones from EBay. I have them in my listening room (my lounge). Turned on/off, I can't tell what impact it has on the sound. Have a power supply for one of them.
A few others I would comment on, and say I have not noticed a difference; Audio Prism Ground Control spades as another example.

My approach is to say I did not notice a difference.
Oregonpapa
Especially considering that so much of what we do is system dependent.
My system may the critical factor in the effect of any additions.

New Omega + magnetic properties. Be advised, they are just as magnetic as the original mats. Evidently, I didn’t have them up against anything metal in the circuit breaker box.

How have you attached your new mat to the circuit breaker?

I’ve tried to stay on here (again).

As happens, negative, arrogant, insulting men ruin it.
To make it worse, they keep on posting.

Their posts are worthless.
Think little of Glupson/Atdavid.

Completely ruined what was to be objective/subjective opinions on the Omega E Mat +, for those interested in their effect, and considering purchasing.
Just a reminder, that this thread is about New Omega E Mat from Perfect Path Technologies. All other non relevant Posts will be removed.

Great news!

One of the best parts of installing the PPT products is that I no longer have any desire to upgrade equipment.

I'm done with the merry-go-round.
Wouldn't that be nice...
The upgrade bug is a hard path to hop off.

After 24 months of changes and tweaks, only have a couple of things left to change/add, the PPT Omega EMat+ being one of them.
Almost 100 hours of Omega Emat+ in circuit breaker.
Will sit down tomorrow night after 120+ hours for a listen.
Oregonpapa
How did your listening session turn out?

Unfortunately, have not quite got to it. System is on, but not really listening.
End of school year, so reports, assessments, classes sorted for next year, teachers to appoint, strategic plan to sort etc.
Oh, yeh, daughter's 21st party, and another headed to North America yesterday.

So, will try a little later...

Most of the time music is from SONY Walkman via earphones.
I believed a number of years ago I would never be able to buy the system I wanted, so went portable.
RWA iMod iPod, into Mini 3 portable amp and Sennheiser HD25, or Grado RS1.

Have since changed to:
RWAK100s
Triad Audio L3
RSA SR-71A
RSA SR-71-B

Home system has improved, so less time on the portable system.
The HD25-1 are DJ headphones.
Very robust. Being closed helped too.
ALO Ref 8 cable.
Added cables and uber mods from Customcans.

My three daughters and wife all have their own HD25s.
jafreeman
Jerry, I believe you are about to be very satisfied with your system just the way it is.

I'm getting very, very close!
A second Omega+ E Mat under my integrated amp?
Or Dac + SGS grounding box?
Or Dac power supply/Eichmann power strip?
Power strip with hardwired Mad Scientist Nitro Nano power cable has plugged into it:
Blu Ray, Dac power supply, MC 0.5, Akiko Triple AC Power Enhancer, iFi AC iPurifier.

Waiting on two Omega+ E Mats mats.

Keen to try under Dac power supply/Eichmann plug board with iFi, Akiko and MC-0.5 plugged into it.
Perhaps under my amp, or a second on the fuse panel.

Then switch them to the speakers and try there.
I didn’t evaluate the MC-0.5's effectiveness.

Plugged it in without really listening to it.
Will probably end up putting it in my work system instead.
Just have to figure out which amp I use.

slaw
Actually, I'm already hearing positive effects. More transparency and dynamics........
Removed the MC-0.5 this morning. As mentioned, the residual effect of this will take a time to dissipate.
Have The Pogues playing. Like the increased layering already.
Easier to hear into the music.

I have Akiko products.

Akiko Fuse Box Tuning Chip for my power switchboard.
Bass notes are so easy to follow.
Better instrument separation as well.

Akiko Tuning sticks.
Put them on my speaker cables, at the speaker end.
Another small step in EQ. Piano was a little more striking. Especially the base notes.
You can feel how powerful Andrew Strong's voice is in 'Try a Little Tenderness' (The Commitments)
All Green's 'How Can You Mend a Brocken Heart' - his voice is more immediate, strings more noticeable, and the backing singers easier to follow all notes.

Akiko Audio Triple AC Enhancer
Got this over three years ago. I can't remember the exact improvement, but know it was obvious, and it's still in my system.

They are staying in my system, as well as the Omega+ Emat/s. They seem to work well together.

Listening...

Cowboy Junkies, Trinity Session
Smooth. Depth. Sublime...

Yeh, for Omega+ Emat on the breaker box.
Where to put a third mat.
The second goes on the breaker panel.
The third, could be under/over my integrated amp.
Or under my dac power supply and plug board.
The plugboard has in it:
Dac power supply
Blu Ray player (used as CD transport)
Akiko Triple AC Power Enhancer
iFi AC iPurifier
Two mats arrived and I put them in yesterday.

Have both of them 'juicing up' (so to speak) on the breaker panel.
Placed the other one under my integrated amp.
I should know this.
Graphene to graphite.

Two years of Latin in high school.
And all I can remember is:
Amo amas amat amamus amatis amant

Marc777, just stop this.

Firstly, you are wrong with your assertion on the meaning of the phrase; wrong in every known context and accepted meaning.

Secondly, you have dragged this thread into a pointless argument that is now dangerously close to desecrating the memory of a very good man.
