New ARC CD Player, and their take on SACD ?

Has anyone seen and/or heard the new Audio Research CD player? For what it's worth...if your go to their site and read what they have to say about their new CD3...and read between the lines a bit...you'll have an idea where they stand on SACD and DVD-A.

The CD2 was a super sounding unit, so it would be nice to have input from anyone that has heard this new CD3.
whatjd
I heard it a month ago in Des Moines.Very musical player.I have to save my pennies or look for a cd1 or 2 as it was $5000.
I heard it at a dealer demo, thought itsounded pretty good BUT I thought the internal top loading section was rather shabby i.e. you can see about a half a dozen philips heads screws scattered all around the laser pickup.Plus inserting and picking up the cd was ackward.
the new arc has no upsampling technology whatsoever
and won't play universal formats

you get an outdated piece that's expensive

arc is missing the boat here
What piece of gear does upsampling(besides the sacd)that's in that $ range...does oracle?
Cary 306/200 does 192KHz upsampling. It has 8 24-bit Burr Brown DAC chips and PMD200 HDCD decoder/filter for HDCD playback. MSRP is $5000 but nobody pays near MSRP for this player.
MY INITIAL EXPOSURE TO THE NEW ARC CD3 WAS FLAWED IN THAT THE UNIT I SAW WAS ONE OF THE FIRST .WHICH ACCOUNTS FOR, AS I SAID ON MY POST A "SHABBY INTERIOR LOADIND SECTION".I'VE SINCE SEEN AND AUDITIONE DFOR A SECOND TIME THE CD3 AND TOOK THE $ PLUNGE AND BOUGHT ONE.SOUNDS GREAT!
