Need interconnect advice

Good day all. I need to replace our interconnects, and need some feedback from you on your experience. I am looking for cables that will smooth out out a slightly grainy digital source (mid-level DVD), but am also looking for good detail and quiet backgrounds. The amp is an Antique Sound 2x15 integrated (using Svetlana KT-88's), the speakers are Mordaunt Short 2-way monitors, and speaker cables are Audioquest Crystal. I would like to spend no more than $125 for the pair (.5 meter), and the main quality I'm looking for is smoothness, followed by "blackness" and then bass. Please share your experience and thanks for your time!

Do yourself a favor and try Mobile Spec Performance cables. Unfortunately, I don't know where they are sold, but I'm sure that you can find them on the net. An audio engineer here on Audiogon named Sean set me up with a pair to quiet sibilance in my Class A solid state amp. I was amazed at the difference. Just what you need to smooth grain and reduce glare. I now use them on my tube gear as well. Best $15 bucks I ever spent. Yes, you heard right. $15 per pair. I use my old Kimbers to stake tomato plants now. If you don't like them, hell, you're only out a couple bucks.
Hey guys, All I know is that they made my Perreaux amplifier sound twice as good with a stunning reduction in Sibilance. When I recontacted Sean in amazement, he revealed that he is a professional audio engineer who works with some big bands and uses these as "sibilance busters". Here's his email: [email protected] (I hope he won't kill me for giving it out). I don't know if he's a rep for the company or not, but he can probably hook you up with Mobile Spec. If any of you try these cables please leave your impressions here as I will be interested to read them.
