Send your motor back. I faced the same problem some years back and thankfully all have been well. The problem remains unknown....
NAS Spacedeck motor doesn't stop

I own a Nottingham Analogue Spacedeck for two years now and suddenly the motor doesn't stop when I place my hand on the damping bands which surround the platter.It only stops for a couple of seconds and then it starts over again without me spinning it.Do I need a new motor?
