Musical Fidelity M3SCD

My CD player is acting up and needs to be replaced, but I'm not looking to spend a lot of money as I rarely use it anymore.  My CDs are all ripped to FLAC files on a NAS drive, and I also stream Tidal and Qobuz through a Node 2i.  I also run the Node through a Meridian Director DAC.  The CD player will be used mostly by my wife as she doesn't want to deal with streaming apps.

My plan was to buy an inexpensive CD player (say a Marantz CD6007) and then look for a better DAC and run both the Node and the CD player through the DAC.  However, the local shop has a Musical Fidelity M3SCD that also accepts digital inputs and can serve as an external DAC for the Node and the new CD players.

My question is - how good is the DAC in the MF CD player?  Anyone have any experience with it?

My suggestion would be to go and listen to it if you can. However I've owned several MF products including DACs and they have all been excellent and very well built.
