Mounting Denon DL-103 onto Clearaudio Concept

I recently bought the DL-103 cartridge and mounted onto the Clearaudio Concept table with its Verify tonearm but couldn't get it lower to reach the record surface. Is there any way to adjust the tonearm or any padding mechanism to bring the stylus lower so that it can reach the record?
It should have set screws at the arm base to adjust VTA by loosening and moving the base up or down. You should be able to loosen them and move the entire base down to allow for the proper level. A good starting position is with the tone arm parallel to the platter when the stylus is in contact with a record. The manual has a diagram of the set screw location.
