Most overrated audio manufacturers?

It is amazing how many there are. Those companies that promise improved sound and advanced engineering. All you get is shiny drivers bigger and more complex crossovers. Less cohesion, and muddy bass.

Having said that isn't that what we in America really want. To be told a bunch of lies.

Sounds you are getting a bit cynical. Easy to do isn't it. I used to work for a big hi fi shop in Denver back in the mid 70's. 8 tracks were just leaving and cassette tapes on the way in and vinyl running strong. The interesting thing is that after all these 40 years the thing that has improved the most are the magazines touting expensive gear.

Any time I read and advertisement or read about a product that starts with the word" Reference" I know it is bull%$##@

I do hate to slam the big name manufactures. Please some one else do it and I need a laugh.
