MM cartridge

I am planing on purchasing the Rega Planar 3 and I would like some input on whether I should get the table with the cartridge Rega provides the Elys 2, or get the table without a cartridge and go with the Ortofon 2M Blue. I have heard such good things on the Ortofon 2M Blue, opinions.

I had a Rega Exact and I was not a big fan.  I thought the sound was kind of lifeless.  That said, if you are new to turntables, I think there's a lot to be said for a Rega cart.  First of all, you don't have to shim the arm in the back and you will know you have a "perfect" alignment, at least in Rega's opinion, with their 3-point mounting system.  Not that aligning another cartridge is so hard, it's just that when you're new it's nice to put your mind at ease and just play records.  There's a lot to be said for that.
I see from your other post that you are very new to turntables.  I agree that the ortofon may be better, but my advice is to get the Rega cart and you will know everything is set up correctly and you won't have to think about it.  Some people shy away from analog because they can't stop obsessing over VTA, alignment and everything else.  Don't put yourself thorough this, especially at the beginning.  Just get the Rega, use thee 3-point setup on the arm and play records.  Then in a year or two you can worry about new carts or whatever else bothers you.
chayro thank you for the very sound advise. I will go that route, makes good sense, thank you.
