Mix and match I.C. companys?

Anyone mix and match I.C.s? I like the detail and soundstage of Nordost Quattro Fill, but they could use a little warmth (could be fatiguing). I like the smoothness, musicality, and holographic image of Transparent Ultra XL, but notice loss of high frequency detail.
