Obviously using the 800 and 808 will allow you to use the Meridian Link and (supposedly) lessen jitter, I have the 861 v4 and a G98, that works for me, but for you at the next level, it's really your call, you should try them both and see what you like best. FWIW I would add in the Meitner/EMM Labs CDSD and DAC6e to try, it's one of my all time favorite sounding players
