Media Server Confusion

I am thinking of getting a media server. I want to use it for movies and music. Can I record DVDs and CDs directly onto them? What things are important and what are not? I have an OPPO 95 and will most likely use Digital out from the server to the DA conversion of the OPPO. I would like to record blue ray DVDs and SACDs to the unit.
Your help is greatly appreciated. PS My wife requires an easy to use unit.

Are there amy media servers that I can hook up to my system that I can copy discs directly from my Oppo to the server? If so, what is a good product without costing tons of cash?

However, the Oppo does not support Apple Losslss.

No. You need to use ripping software and a PC with a CD/DVD/Bluray drive.

If I purchase a drive, will I be able to burn cds and dvds from the oppo to the drive?

Ummm, the Oppo 95 does not have a digital input unless you are going to use its USB inputs as such. Why not just stash your music on a USB drive and hook that into the Oppo? That's what I do with my Oppo 93 and it works quite well. The user interface is a bit clunky, but certainly serviceable. And you'll only have to purchase an external USB drive to make it all work. 2TB drives are going for ~$100 right now...
