You will need some serious power to get the rx-20 to play loud and they are a rather laid back speaker for loud music. Hard for me to imagine, I had a pair of the 2 year old models. i guess they have a newer version but......
Meadowlark vs Gershman
Hello guys,I hate the this VS that message bit i had to do it, here is the situation, i won meadowlark shearwater Hotrods, i really enjoy them, they are connected to a audio reseach tube pre and a mcintosh 352 solid state amp/ I don't think the meadowlarks are enough speakers for me, they start to break up when i want to crank the music, they might be loud enough for some but i need more ear bleeding volume,I am thinking of selling the shearwaters and buying the gershman avant garde rx2 loudspeakers, Is what i need to know is, looking at the spec below, In theory, Can the gershmans be played at louder volumes then the meadowlarks without cackling, here are the specs/ Meadowlark Shearwaters The HR Shearwaters' frequency response is stated as 35Hz to 22kHz, +/- 3dB, with a sensitivity rating of 88/dB/W/m.
