Mcintosh MCD1000 & MDA1000

The budget on these two Mcintosh transport and da are way above my budget, but after hearing these in a system with Wilson S/P 8's, I was totally enamored. This with the addition of the Ayre K1 preamp, was easily one of the best systems I've ever heard! (Audio Perfection in MPLS)

Anyone out there have any experience with these Mac pieces and can I get the sound of the 1000 da for less money?

Does the MCD201 measure up to them?
