It's worth a try. Years ago I mated a AES (Cary) tube pre w/ an older Pass Labs amp w/ outstanding results. Tubes gave a large 3D soundstage and SS offered up plenty of detail.
McIntosh MA6200 and tube preamp
Has anyone had experience by-passing the SS amp and using a tube preamp with the MA6200? I've heard tube preamp and SS amp is the way to go to optimize "tube sound". Since I have the MA6200, thought I'd give it a try. Powering some updated Klipsch Forte I's. Thanks for any perspectives.
