Mcintosh MA5100 speaker connection

Finally got a Mac, the MA5100. Im not familiar with the vintage gear, so my question is; the rear panel speaker terminals have 8 screws for each channel. from what I understand, the two center, and inside screws are used for stereo connections, the top being +, and lower being common (-). Am I correct in my assumption?

Have you checked the manual? If you didn't get one with purchase, download one.

Yes, you are correct, here is a MA5100 Owners Manual.

The top 2 screws and bottom 2 screws on each terminal are not any type of connection. They secure the terminal to the chassis.
