I, too, find the C2200 phono section to be quite good. It gets even better if you replace the stock Chinese tubes with some NOS tubes like Telefunken or Apmerex.
its superb.... SF never goes overboard for built in phono boards, even though the macs have been consistantly good for 40 years. the 2200 is one of the best
