MC head amp or stepup trasformer??

WHich you prefer use with MC cartrige? I have Audiotechnica OC5 cartri and use with ortofon stepup trasformer. The sound is very good but I wonder if I get better with use dediceted head amp. Sory for english ;-(

Take a peak into Audioasylum and search for Garth's post on hi step-up ratio Cinemag transformers and loading a cartridge at its internal impedance.

Worth checking out as alternative to your ortofon trannies.
