I'll assume you're referring to the 116 and the new 116f. My dealer tells me that the omin-directional drivers are new improved plus you're right port is now located at the rear. Oh yes, the grilles are also slighly re-designed. Overall, we can expect an improve performance but its a chance to pickup the older 116 at a much reduced price/performance. I'm using the 116 BTW.
