Match subwoofer to Spendor S3/5?

Bought some Spendor S3/5 unheard but aware of limitations on bottom end and dynamics. Speaker is great for mid-range on acoustic jazz, female vocals, similar but curious if anyone has matched sub to it and what the impact is? Does it now work for rock, electric jazz, more dynamic stuff?

i am late to the party here but i am using a HSU Research vtf2 with great success. quite unlike trying to mate a sub to the LS3/5As which have a midbass hump which makes it difficult to mate a sub to.

the s3/5s have no such hump so do way better in this area.
