Mary Chapin Carpenter and Shawn Colvin

I haven't posted in a while but this is worth knowing about. I was fortunate enough to go hear this concert the other night in Calgary in an old church. It was outstanding. Just the two singers and their guitars. Their interaction with one another and the audience was great. If you get a chance, and like this music, I don't think you will be disappointed. Here is a link to the tour.

20 years back at a Bob Dylan Tribute Concert, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Shawn Colvin, and Rosanne Cash came together to perform

You Ain't Goin' Nowhere .

These gals can do no wrong.

Shawn Colvin, Rosanne Cash, and Mary Chapin Carpenter turned up quite a bit at shows 20 years back. I saw some combination of the three several times at the Bottom Line in NYC, usually at a songwriters' show called, 'In Their Own Words.' Good chemistry among the three performers, hardly boring, but to each their own.

@Don - tend to agree with your observation. Though I have seen Richard Thompson on several occasions pick up a guitar and support bands as diverse as Crowded House to Dave Alvin and be content to play in the background.
