I own the sr9300. I use an outboard amp for the fronts.Use it as is for a while but think about an outboard amp. Many used amps will help--cheap amps at that.
MARANTZ SR 8500 and 4 OHM SPEAKERS
I have a Marantz 8500 receiver and just ordred three Snell spreakers accross the front of the theater (only silver speakers my wife would consider). They are 4 ohms and the MArantz calls for a minimum of 6. The Marantz tech said i'd be fine, but I'm not so sure. The back speakers are 8 ohms and two will not be used at all
