I've used the remote on my Steelhead and found it gradual enough for fine adjustments. I'm not sure if the Shrimp has the same system but I think it does--a motorized pot with a large phenolic knob. OTOH, I have a Stringray II that uses a electronic volume adjuster; it's more difficult to control, requiring me to "pump" the button rather than hold it down for small changes. Hope this helps.

I am considering adding remote control to the Shrimp preamp. I need to know if slight volume adjustments are accomplished without overshoot. I want a very gradual change to occur when I press the button. I don't want to spend big bucks for the remote upgrade and then find myself hating it.
