Lyngdorf 2170 factory reset?

During the Holidays, I moved my audio rack from the long wall to the short wall without really disconnecting anything other than wall plugs.  Afterwards, the Lyngdorf 2170 would only produce volume at a single loud level that could no longer be controlled by the remote.  The large volume wheel on the unit doesn't do a thing either.  Then, to make matters worse, when cycling through the menus on the remote, I inadvertently locked myself out of using the amplifier altogether.  The remote, even with fresh batteries, is now totally inoperative.

The manual mentions the option of doing a Factory Reset but of course provides no information about how to actually do it.  Does anyone have any ideas about how to get out of this dilemma?  I have emailed Lyngdorf but am still waiting.

Thanks.

Try
while the unit is on to remove the AC power cord.
This is called a power down.
Let it sit for 20 min or so and then fire it back up.
