I turn to the knowledgeable people at AG. In my quest for a new CD player, I have been told by several dealers the Luxman D-06u is great, but the D-08u is better. For you in the know, what do you feel?

I have a 5 and a 6, both wonderful units. I would get another 6 if I had the need. Big increase in cost from 6 to 8, and not worth the added cost, to me.
