Louisville, Ky

Looking for audiophiles in the Louisville area. I've been building my audio system for several years, and even though I now have a really good system, I feel like I have a lot to learn, such as every time I pick up a review and don't understand the basic terms discussed. If you're in the Louisville area and would like to share listening experiences or music, give me a shout! Glenn at [email protected] or 553-9830.

@ Dusty,

I no longer live in Louisville, but I am from there and there are not many options when it comes to audiophile gear. There is a 98% home theater shop out towards middle town, they carried B&W, Classe and maybe Krell, can't remember. Not set up for a dedicated 2 channel consumer.

A great little find however exist in the Highlands, on the corner of Baxter Ave & Payne St. there is a little hole in the wall called Magnetic Tape Recorder Inc. Charlie Green is the shop owner, who mostly works on repairs of vintage equipment. I have personally used them to repair my Pioneer M-22 Class A power amp & some of my Dynaco gear. The work is thorough and he stands behind it. Occasionally he will have some awesome gear for sale in there as well. He had a Clayton Audio S40 for sale, which I am still pissed at myself for not purchasing it. Anyway if you need something fixed and don’t want to ship it, check him out.
