I plan to go. I went last year for the first time and really enjoyed it. it's pretty laid back as shows go, a good mix of exhibitors keep it interesting.
I guess your googler is broken, eh?

I will be there on Saturday morning and look forward to meeting some Audiogoners.
I will have a buddy in one room showing my VSA Unifield 3's and I hope to have a pair of Evolution Acoustics MicroOne's in my room.
I will be there to. Had a blast last year and barring emergencies I dont think I will be missing any LSAF events in the future.
I will be showing my Lighter Note preamplifier and my friend will be showing his headphone amps.
Folks dont miss Duke Legune or Wayne Parham's rooms. Amazing sound and wonderful people.
LSAF, if you have not been there, is a weekend of socializing with like minded people and place for audio revelations. You will hear things that will blow your mind, see things that do the same and come away from it absolutely positive that you will be going back next year. Way to much fun to miss.
Hope to see you all in my room at some point. Please stop by and listen to my Lighter Note. I challenge anybody to a preamplifier shoot out. If you have a preamp you want to put up against it, bring it along and we will compare. I dont mind swapping them in and out of my system til you are satisfied that you have heard and identified a difference. I have had reports from customers with their impression of shootouts but have only heard a few comparisons with my own ears so for me it will be a great opportunity as well.
See you there
Uriah
I have been fortunate to hear the Lighter Note Preamplifier and it was a winner in every way. I will be in attendnce for the first time. Looking forward to meeting some new friends. I will definetly visit Dennis Deacon room, founder of D-Sonic Clss D amps. Uriah, I will be seeing you also.
Tspec I agree 100%! Lighter Note Preamplifier deserves an audition by everyone attending the show. I would not be surprised if the Lighter Note preamplifier gets a thumbs up from everyone who listens to it. I sure would be there to listen to it the second time.

Dennis has already had good exposure as far as his gear is concerned and I am sure many attendee's who have not heard his amps would be looking forward to it knowing the are already favorably reviewed. I think his amps mated very well with EAR tube pre-amplifiers as far as I know.

I believe we will have a great time at the show. Will be seeing you all.....
For anyone reading and going for their fist time there are 3 rooms in particular you MUST see. Duke Legune (Lejune?) of Audio Kinesis. Wayne Parham of Pi Speakers. Danny Richie (Ritchie?)/Dodd/Tranquility DAC/The Magic Buss. I am sure I spelled several guys names wrong there but the last one is a collaboration of several guys work in one room. All 3 rooms are completely magical. No one knows how to make a room more fun than Wayne. Very comfortable listening and such a relaxed guy. His speakers are A+. Duke is one of the nicest guys I have EVER met. EVER. A true gentleman. Always smiling and always with something good to say about his competitors. Just a 'feel good' room. Another thing about that room that is 'feel good' is the sound. The speakers are soooo smooth and he has figured a way to get his horns to not have a sweet spot but a sweet swath. You can sit anywhere on a couch in front of them and they sound the same from one end of the couch to another. The BASS is unbelievable. Ask him to play the Japanese Drums disc. Amazing.
The room of collaborators is one of the best rooms at LSAF. The guys are all very kind and good company. They system synergy there is knockout. Dont miss it.
Have fun and make friends before dinner. If you want to go out drinking that night try to drum up a party before the end of they day.
Uriah
I'll be there demonstrating Dennis Deacon's D-Sonic Magnum 500S ICEpower stereo amp. Other equipment will include the new Oppo BDP-95 universal player, a Parasound P3 preamp, and a high sensitivity (95dB) version of the AudioKarma EconoWaveguide speakers.
Thank you very much, Uriah.

One of Uriah's preamps will be in my room (I'm not sure he knew that until now; I think I forgot to tell him I'd be using it). The preamp he loaned me last year played a major role in any good sounds we had going on in there, so much so that I bought one.

I'll be showing an evolution of last year's speakers, and Richard Gray will be providing the amplification. Yes, *that* Richard Gray... he's been quietly building tube amps for decades.

Looking forward to meeting you, Quadophile! Now one of the really neat things about Lone Star is rooms like Fred's - that is, hardcore hobbyist rooms. In fact, you'll notice quite a bit of similarity between what Fred's doing as a hobbyist and I'm doing for money.

In fact, you could exhibit too, if you wanted. I clicked on the link to your "system" page, and you've got some very cool stuff that many of us have only read about, or haven't heard in a long time but have fond memories of. If you don't have an accomplice, you wouldn't need to leave your room open all the time - just when you felt like it, in between "making the rounds". If it's logistically feasible, you might consider it.

Duke
Duke,

I look forward to meeting you for sure! I moved to the US in 2007 and had to give up all of it before coming. I actually forgot to update that, I will now post an update there so as not to confuse anyone that I still have all those components.

The only thing I had when I arrived was the Sennheiser HD-600 headphones and Headroom Total bithead as far as equipment was concerned and I managed to bring with me some 80 albums from the 1400 I had. It is not a good feeling when I look back and realize what I had back then. One day I hope I will be able to get to the point where I left off.

Thanks for responding.
Hope you guys are having a blast! Wanted to attend but unable to.

Look forward to hearing impressions from you all.

Sebrof, every time I read your gooogler response to me it cracks me up! Thanks for the laugh!

Best,

Dave
The show was great and so were the exhibitors, a great experience indeed!

I sure will try to make it next year too.

Hands down the best sounding system that I heard there was the Raven Audio room! The system was incredibly musical and had great detail and resolution, Given the right room this system would sound even better. The entire team of Raven Audio was very courteous, polite and professional including Dave's wife! I had a listen to it on Saturday and made it a point to hear it again as the last system before leaving so that it leaves a good taste in my mouth.
....continued

Richard Gray's SET prototype amp @ 6 watts per channel was another great product driving the baffle-less speakers. I enjoyed his company while listen to music late Friday night without knowing he was somewhat of a celebrity in his field of power conditioning.

The "Carmel" speakers were very impressive too, great finish and a very good sound.

D-Sonic audio room was was also a very enjoyable place to listen to Dennis Deacon's system as it was well setup and sounded great. His amps sound even better than what I had heard before, great detail and power. Last but not least one of the most beautifully finished in the price category. They sure look much more expensive than what the price of those amps is.

The Lighter Note Preamp from Uriah Daily seemed to be in every third room I visited which goes on to show how much it is liked by the DIY community.

Overall a great show, however I had very bad experience in a couple of rooms I visited, not the exhibitors but the so called audiophile visitors were "barking" while some of us were trying hard to listen to the system. If I had a shotgun with me I swear I would have used it! Enough said!
The innerurban room with the refurbished Quad 63s on custom stands was a real fun room to visit. Extermely generous of him to lug that gear into the room and share, and he has great taste in music. An expereice that doesn't come along very often.

The Manzanita room with the 18" open baffels (yes, 18" or 457.2 mm!!) had some good sound as well. He was running a Musical Fidelity SS amp when I was in there 'cause his SEP was busted :( He was very knowledgeable about speaker design, or so I guess because I didn't understand a word he said half the time.

The Pi room (Keep your fork, there's PIE!) was a good room to be in. Wayne was very acommodating and informative and played a lot of good music.

The Oddwatt guys were cool, I enjoyed their room.

The room with the Melody gear was a good room as well, good sound and I liked the way they had it low-lit so you could see those 845s glowing. They had about 15 tubes to make 75 watts (preamp and monoblocks).

I think Audiokenisis didn't get their room deposit back because they cracked the plaster in the walls with all that bass. Duke - Get that Cowboy Junkies album yet?

All in all an enjoyable afternoon for me and well worth the 3 hr. drive from Austin. This show is very laid back, can't get some of these guys to stop talking about gear or music, very friendly folks.

Here's to next year.
