While I have not used this amp with the VSM, I have used a couple of 845 to basted SE amplifiers on the VSMs at one time or another over the past many years. First off, 20 to 25 W does a pretty good job on the VSM. It is plenty power to get to moderate or louder levels.
From my personal experience with this tube I can say that it should be a pretty good combo (more so on the latter versions of the VSM). To my ears the 845 tube has a bit more clear and focused character than the 300B, so based on that and what I’ve read I would not think this amp to have a lush sound, but I would not let that deter you as it will likely have good tone, staging etc. Certainly worth a listen/try if you can get your hands on one..
